Today is the first of a number of hugely exciting games against ex managers and players who will be extremely motivated to beat us.
Our success off the pitch and the resulting high profile players signing to play for us on it have led to us being viewed as one of the league’s “big fish”. As traditional plucky underdogs it’s a new role to most of us around the club. Every time we lose our fans will read more than ever about it on socials, hear more than before on pod casts and have more discussions around town.
This will be tough when we’ve lost a game but we should embrace it as part of our growth.
Ultimately nothing is decided this side of Christmas. Come the fourth month of the season many sides haven’t even played ten league games.
As great as the battles ahead would be to win it’s important for us all to remember that the most important time to be judged is at the end of April when leagues and cups are being decided.
In the meantime lets just enjoy the ride and savour being part of such highly anticipated games.
Come on you Rams
