Ramsgate 4-1 Three Bridges
Ramsgate hosted Three Bridges at the WW Martin Community Stadium on Saturday hoping to extend their lead at the top of the Isthmian South East league table and build on last weeks victory over Burgess Hill.
The game started with Bridges having the better of the play as they looked to pass the ball around Ramsgate and just minutes in good play allowed the visitors to get a shot off just inside the box but it hit the side netting.
The visitors threatened again as Irving found himself in space and get a shot away but Bexon was equal to it.
Slowly the Rams settled and in the 9th minute Jadama played the ball to Josh Ajayi in a wide right area, his cross shot evaded the Bridges defence and top scorer Ashley Miller was at the back post to sweep home and give the home side an early advantage.
Rams were on the attack again on 20 minutes as a ball from Miller found Kane Rowland but his shot was parried by the keeper and cleared.
The scores were level just a minute later as a ball through the Ramsgate midfield found Rivera and he burst through into the box. Howlett-Mundle caught the back of the attacker and he went to ground to win a clear penalty. O’Neil was the man to take it and he made no mistake to make it 1-1.
It took until the stroke of half time for Ramsgate to create another opportunity as Paxman had the ball out wide and swung in a cross to the area, Jadama won the ball but couldn’t divert the ball on target and we went into the break all square.
Ramsgate started the second half the brighter side with Jadama once again heading wide and Miller slo sent a shot close.
60 minutes and a change of formation and personnel as Aboagye made a return from injury and Osinfolarin was also introduced. The changes instantly gave the home side more impetus and energy.
65 minutes and Ramsgate took the lead as a ball was played in but looped into the air via a deflection and Rowland spinning and on the ground somehow got the necessary contact to beat the keeper and put the ball in the net.
Ramsgate were really turning the screw now and it was 3-1 eight minutes later as the imperious Jamie Coyle met an Ashley Miller corner to head home.
77 minutes and the Rams had a fourth and it was Miller the provider again as his corner was headed in by Jadama from close range to ensure the victory and it ended 4-1.
