100k Charity Milestone
Rams break through 100k charitable donation milestone as three year anniversary approaches of our 3G and Charity the Ramsgate Active Education Foundation
The three-year anniversary of our 3G pitch is fast approaching. During this time, Ramsgate Football Club and charity Ramsgate Active Education Foundation have worked with partners to raise in excess of one hundred thousand pounds of donations for Charities.
A high proportion of this is made up of small amounts from local groups raising funds for local needs. This really demonstrates the positivity that can be created when modern facilities are invested in and combined with a genuine desire to help others.
There are countless examples of local people coming together with the Club and Charity. Tim Johnston ran a family day at the club that raised over £7,000 for the Rainbow Ward at the QEQM, WW Martin had a football tournament for the RNLI that contributed towards the £8,000 they raised for the Charity. RSP have donated thousands in fun facilities to create events kids can enjoy at the stadium.
Jim and Danny Ward organised a legends tournament that raised £3,000 for a little girl with a rare neurodevelopmental disorder. Dave and Jamie Hewett raised over £1500 to purchase a defib for Canterbury high street. Rams coaches Jon May and Elliot Austin ran a number of charity matches of which over £2000 went to support bereaved families and pay for a memorial bench. Rob Hughes and Tash Woolford have worked with numerous mental health charities to raise funds. Russ Goldsmith put on an event at the stadium that raised over £1,000 for bowel cancer UK.
There are far too many more to mention and we want to take this opportunity to thank everyone of you who have worked with us in achieving this milestone. This gratitude is of course extended to all of the staff and contributors to our HAF programme that has seen over 500 local children enjoy exercise, hot food, lap tops, helicopter rides and cycling lessons with the club since the install of our fantastic facilities.
