Lancing vs Ramsgate
The Rams head down the M23 to take on 15th placed Lancing at Culver Road.
Last time out Ramsgate beat VCD Athletic at Southwood thanks to goals from Gil Carvalho and Rowan Liburd. This result meant we went four points clear at the top of the table and made it six unbeaten with Jamie Coyle at the helm.
Last Saturday Lancing were on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat away to Cray Valley. Daniel Bennett put the Papermills 1-0 up before Marcus Allen equalised for the visitors but Cray snatched the win in the 88th minute with a goal from Sonny Black.
So far this season Lancing have registered nine wins from their 29 games, drawing five and tasting defeat 15 times.
The teams last met back in September and the Rams won the game 2-1 thanks to goals from Jamie Coyle and Theo Osinfolarin but they were indebted to a last minute penalty save from Goalkeeper coach Lee Hook to secure the points.
Ramsgate have been boosted with the signing of long term target Youssouf Bamba from Sittingbourne and the exciting and pacey winger will go straight into the squad for tomorrow. On securing the signing manager Jamie Coyle said ” Bamba is a player who we have liked for a while, he always seems to score against us and I’ve been really impressed by him on every occasion I’ve seen him. He is direct and provides another goal threat, I’m sure the fans will take to him”
Temporarily heading out on duel registration is Theo Osinfolarin who has joined K Sports to get some match fitness following an injury and the gaffer said ” Theo has been unlucky, he was really flying before his injury and was one of our better players at the beginning of the season but he hasn’t ben able to break back into the team since he came back so we would like him to go out and play a few games to get that match sharpness back. It’s one we will monitor on a match by match basis”
Kick off is at 3pm.
