Sevenoaks 1-2 Ramsgate
Rams went into the game back on top of the table following Tuesdays 1-1 draw with Beckenham but without talisman TJ Jadama through illness, Ben Fitchett with an injury and new signing Tom Carlse wasn’t ready to feature just yet.
The game kicked off in pleasant Winter conditions and it was the home side who forced an early corner but nothing came off it.
Olopade took a blow from a nasty tackle in the sixth minute which left him limping and although he tried to run it off he eventually succumbed and was replaced by Emptage.
Emptage had an instant impact winning the ball and then slotting a superb through ball for Liburd to run onto, he shot at goal but dragged his effort just wide of Mccarthy’s goal.
Twelve minutes in and Cadogan swung a free kick into the far post which was won by a Sevenoaks attacker and sent across goal but Coyle was there to head away the danger.
Two minutes later and another free kick for the home side who struck the effort well but straight at Bexon.
Miller and Liburd linked up shortly after as the big Ramsgate striker played a lovely outside of the boot ball in front of Miller, he cut inside and tried to lob the keeper but the ball landed just over the crossbar.
21 minutes and the Rams did have the lead. Aboagye intercepted a loose ball and drove for the byline, he crossed low and hard for Carvalho who pounced at the far post to give us the lead.
On 25 minutes Emptage took a blow to the nose and was sent for treatment due to the claret pouring from it which left the visitors playing for five minutes with just ten men and although several balls were flung into the box Ramsgate saw this difficult period through.
On the stroke of half time the home side were level. Mccarthy launched the ball upfield and The Rams half cleared the ball but it fell to Cadogan who unleashed an unstoppable shot past a full stretch Bexon.
Into the second half and Coyle slipped allowing Mensah to break free, he shot but Bexon made a smart stop.
60th minute and Ramsgate retook the lead as good play out from the back found Miller, he knocked the ball past Douglas and with blistering pace reached it the other side to deliver a perfect cross to the onrushing Paxman who converted to make it 2-1.
73 minutes and a wonder save from Bexon as Baugh shot with power and swerve but the visiting stopper adjusted brilliantly to parry away.
Ramsgate were standing strong defensively and nearly added another goal on the break as Osinfolarin cut in from the left had side and fired an effort just wide on 82 minutes.
An incredible six minutes added time was shown by the fourth official and Bexon was forced into a couple more saves but The Rams held on to gain a well deserved three points.
