Ramsgate 0-0 Chichester City
Ramsgate took to the field in their last game before Christmas knowing a win would guarentee top spot going into the festivities but with Rowland, Paxman, Ajayi and Prescott all missing the Rams new they would be in for a hard game against mid table Chichester.
The game started with The Rams trying to press from the front and limit Chichesters routes out of the back and the game struggled to find any real rythm in the opening ten minutes.
It was Chichester who had the first effort on goal as a shot from distance was comfortably claimed by Bexon and it was Chichester who were now firmly in the ascendancy as a shot from distance narrowly evaded the Rams goal and then a header from a cross from the right went just wide.
It took until the 27th minute for Ramsgate to have their first meaniful effort on goal as Jadama won the ball in midfield and shot from distance but his effort went wide.
Chichester then had a free kick in the 29th minute but the ball struck the wall and was deflected out for a corner.
Into the 33rd minute and Nathan Wood struck a corner that was going in but Magee got down well low to repell the ball away.
Into the second half and Horncastle struck a hard shot down to Bexons left but the rams stopper was equal to it. Chcihester were gaining confidence and the home side were keeping them at bay only with determined and sometimes desperate defending.
Wood was growing into the game from Ramsgate and good work from the winger down the left saw a ball delivered to Aboagye but the wing back headed the ball over.
66 minutes and a great chance for Ramsgate as Diakiesse goes through but just at the vital moment he loses his footing as he shoots and the ball goes wide.
77th minutes and Fitchett with Rams best effort so far but Magee at full stretch to his left tips the ball over the bar.
Pritchard then found himself in space for Chichester but fired just wide in the 85th minute as both sides had to settle for a share of the spoils.
