A high scoring game played under the Southwood lights between two teams going hard for the winThe game started well with a quick chance early on with the midfield Shulz brothers combining to split the Oxford defence with some neat passing setting up Wilshaw to force the keeper into the first of many saves on a busy night for him.
Warren Shultz was ever present in dictating the pace of the game and continued to control the midfield with ease linking up with Gavin Shultz and Chris Wicks before picking passes to spread the game and keep the heat on the Oxford back line. The early pressure paid off and didn’t take long before Wilshaw grabbed the 1st goal of the night from a sweeping team move down the left hand side with a thumping finish to make it 1 nil to AAA.
The goals kept coming and wasn’t long before the game was at 4.1 to AAA with Wilshaw grabbing his second of the night , Brown putting a well timed header away from a corner , then Wilshaw completing his hat trick with not long to spare before the half was over with a thumping left foot finish into the roof of the net.
The second half saw 6 changes made from AAA and wasn’t long before Tremble finished off a finely worked goal with the talented Tyman giving the Oxford defenders nightmares with his quick feet , set the ball for Tremble who buried it into the top corner from 20 yards to make it 5-1.
Oxford came back into the game and scored two goals on quick succession as AAA pressed high to chase the goal difference required in the league to keep pace at the top.Ramsgate wildcats head coach Cox scored twice after being introduced at half time and restored the advantageThe game was sealed when Gavin Shulz stepped up from distance to bury a free kick into the bottom corner to secure the victory.
AAA managed by Ex Ramsgate coach Iain Stead and Kevin Lloyd were happy with the team’s performance , the blend of youth and experience within the team is proving a good balance with the younger players learning from the experience of players like Warren as the team look to push in all competitions this season
