Josh Bexon has won the AB1 Golden Glove award for August.
In Ramsgate’s four league matches during the month, Bexon adapted to Step 4 football brilliantly, keeping two clean sheets, conceding just twice and playing a pivotal role in ensuring The Rams went unbeaten and finished the month with 10 points from a maximum 12.
“It feels great to win the golden glove, I hope this is the first of many this season!” Said Bexon.
“It just shows how solid we are as a unit and if we keep this up we will have no problem being where we need to be at the end of the season to gain promotion.
“I feel like we have started off the season well and we have come together as a team that can push on for the remainder of the season.”
An unprecedented level of absence in the squad through injuries, illness and the odd holiday hasn’t been able to hamper Steve Lovell’s side, a testimony to the squad he has built during the summer.
The squad is something Bexon believes has been important to the strong start of the campaign, who will go top of the league with a win against Lancing:
“We have a great depth and togetherness within the squad which allows us to still get results which is great and keeping the competition up for places as everyone is good enough to play.
“With the current team we have we are more than capable of having a successful year gaining promotion and I want to play my part in that as best I can.”
